IC trip to Prague The team of 9 Canadians participated in Jiri Medonos CQS IC tennis tournament. We started a day before the tournament by attending Swan Lake ballet performance in the State Opera in Prague. The next day we practiced for two hours and in the evening we went to the famous pub U Fleků. There was plenty of food, beer and Becherovka (Czech liqueur) and some of us even danced to the music of the accordion. On Thursday the matches started and we did well. In the evening was a gala dinner in Mánes restaurant which overlooked the river Vltava. It was nice to meet and talk to players from other countries. On Friday the tournament continued in a different format, this time our partner was from another country. In the afternoon the winners were announced. Spain won and Canada finished third out of seven countries. Countries participating were Czechia, Spain, USA, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Canada. The next day in the morning we met our tour guide in front of Powder Tower and were treated to a fascinating tour of the old town. There is so much history in Prague. Everybody had a great time, and thanks to the organizer Honza Michalek, 1. ČLTK and the sponsor Detroit Investments.
